Lemech has two wives and tells them, seemingly bragging, about his killing of two men. This is the beginning of a generational curse that is actualized five generations later with Lemech. The land will not provide for him any longer and he is giving a physical mark of his punishment to keep anyone from killing him.Ĭain has a son, Enoch, and he builds a city bearing his son’s name. Confronted by God, Cain is punished by becoming a wanderer and a fugitive. Cain grew angry and lured his younger brother into the wilderness to kill him. God shows regard for Abel’s offering, not Cain’s. Cain brought an offering of fruit to the Lord and Abel brought the firstlings of his flock with their fat portions. In Genesis chapter 4 we learn about Adam and Eve’s sons, Cain and Abel.
